They enjoyed working together on “The Silver Linings Playbook” so much that Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence decided to get together again for “Serena.”

The “Hangover” hunk and the “Hunger Games” hottie will begin shooting shortly, with a script based on Ron Rash’s 2008 novel of the same name.

Per the book’s synopsis, “The year is 1929, and newlyweds George and Serena Pemberton travel from Boston to the North Carolina mountains where they plan to create a timber empire. Although George has already lived in the camp long enough to father an illegitimate child, Serena is new to the mountains—but she soon shows herself to be the equal of any man, overseeing crews, hunting rattle-snakes, even saving her husband’s life in the wilderness.”

“Together this lord and lady of the woodlands ruthlessly kill or vanquish all who fall out of favor. Yet when Serena learns that she will never bear a child, she sets out to murder the son George fathered without her. Mother and child begin a struggle for their lives, and when Serena suspects George is protecting his illegitimate family, the Pembertons’ intense, passionate marriage starts to unravel as the story moves toward its shocking reckoning.”

Closing out her work week duties, the always-busy Jessica Alba spent her afternoon at her Santa Monica, CA office on Friday (January 27).

Channeling her inner hippie, the “Machete” star dressed in a light wash jean vest, brown tank top and multi-colored maxi skirt as she toted her bright green handbag inside.

Just recently, the mom of two told CNN that she thinks fellow superstar parents Beyonce and Jay Z should sell the coveted first picture of their newborn baby girl Blue Ivy.

Hoping the pair will use the profits for a trust fund or charity, Miss Alba explained how her own experience shaped her opinion on the subject, telling, “For our family, we just wanted to control the experience. We put the money that the picture made into a bank account for Honor to do whatever she wants to do with.”

“It’s her picture, it’s her birth, and we didn’t want it to be like a weird thing when we were walking out of the house for the first time,” she added.

The “American Idol” judge beautifies the publication’s front page while talking about what helped her through the challenging times and getting her work ethic from her mother in a column titled ‘Fast Forward’.

“It’s the women. Through ups and not so ups, that’s the one thing that got me through. My grandmother taught me to cook and not be afraid to serve and be humble – and to go out looking nice because people like that and they respect you.”

“I’ve been fortunate enough to work with some of the best designers who’ve ever lived. I can bring all that experience to this. I’m really, really a fan of glamour and old Hollywood and movie stars. I’ve always been a fan of fashion ever since I was a little girl, and Kohl’s has been a great partner in helping me execute this first collection and it’s been amazing.”

On her mother helping establish her work ethic:
“My mom always told me that if you work hard, you can achieve anything. And it’s true. It’s one of the truest things ever.”

Making her first official public appearance since parting ways with ex-husband Russell Brand, Katy Perry played host at the 1 Oak At The Mirage grand opening in Las Vegas on Friday night (January 27).

The newly-single “The One That Got Away” singer rocked a colorful blue coif as she was was joined at the soiree by J. Molinari jewelry designers Markus Molinari and Jason Arasheben, as well as hotel heiress sisters Paris and Nicky Hilton, Shenae Grimes, Christina Milian and David Arquette.

Acting as a charity fundraiser for GiveLove.org, proceeds from the event benefit the foundation’s efforts “to provide temporary housing solutions and sanitation systems in earthquake-stricken Haiti.”

Of getting Katy to front the Sin City celebration, Eli Pacino, managing partner of 1 Oak, said, “Markus Molinari & Katy Perry are best friends, coming together to bring awareness to an amazing cause GiveLove.org.”
